Titanium alloy technology

Alloy elements according to their influence on the phase transition temperature can be divided into three categories:

The phase transition temperature has little effect on the element as the neutralelement, a zirconium, tin etc.. Oxygen, nitrogen, carbon and hydrogen are the mainimpurities in titanium alloy. Oxygen and nitrogen has greater solubility in the alphaphase, there are significant strengthening effect of titanium alloy, but the plasticity decreased. Usually the provisions of oxygen and nitrogen in titanium content in 0.15 ~0.2% and 0.04 ~ 0.05% below. The solubility of hydrogen in the alpha phase is very small, too much dissolved in titanium alloy hydride hydrogen will be produced, the alloy brittle. Usually in titanium alloy hydrogen content of 0.015% control in the following. Dissolved hydrogen in titanium is reversible, can be used to remove thevacuum annealing.
